The district police have busted inter State gang of opium smugglers, here on Monday. They have also arrested two persons including a lady and recovered the biggest ever haul of 15 Kg. opium from their vehicle. They have been booked u/s 18-61-85 NDPS Act. Addressing the media persons here today Alka Meena SSP said that 'Mandi Gobindgarh police led by Manpreet Singh DSP Amloh had erected naka on GT Road at Mandi Gobindgarh and during checking of vehicles police signaled an empty truck number PB-11BV-7979 coming from Sirhind side to stop for checking but the driver fled away, she said police party led by SHO Mandi Gobindgarh Kuljit Singh intercepted the truck and took into custody the driver and his accomplice a lady sitting in truck.' -PTC News
