An Indian national has been charged in the Australian city of Perth for possessing child pornography and other objectionable material on Saturday. A 32-year-old Indian national was caught at the airport with two phones containing child pornography videos.

An Australian Border Force (ABF) officer discovered the content on his mobile phones during a baggage search at Perth Airport. The ABF officers seized his mobile phones and cancelled his visitor’s visa.

He appeared in Perth Magistrates Court on Sunday. He was remanded in custody to re-appear on Tuesday. He was to appear in court on Tuesday. The identity of the person was not disclosed to the media sources.

According to media reports, the maximum penalty for the importation of child exploitation material in Australia is 10 years imprisonment and/or a fine of up to 525,000 Australian dollars.
