Man arrested for raping 6-year-old girl in Patiala
A 22-year-old man has been arrested by the police on Monday for raping a six-year-old girl in Patiala. The accused has been identified as Baljit Kumar. According to the media reports, the accused raped the girl on Saturday. The incident came into light when the victim cried for hours due to pain in the abdomen on Sunday. When she was taken to the government hospital for treatment and medical examination, it was then; the parents of the victim came to know about the rape.

The doctors further revealed that the girl sustained injuries on her private parts. The parents of the victim then reported the matter to the police, following which it conducted several raids to nab the accused. Police has registered a case against Baljit Kumar under Sections of Indian Penal Code and POSCO Act.

Baljit Kumar lured the 6-year-old girl on the pretext of providing food at a religious gathering in the village. He took the girl to a vacant plot and raped her. The girl sustained injuries on her private parts and sodomized her. When she complained of severe pain, it was then the whole matter came into light. According to the media reports, the parents of girl work as labourers and the accused is unemployed. He raped the victim, when her parents were out for work.
