Massive 7.1 magnitude earthquake jolts Antarctica

 

An earthquake of 7.1 magnitude on Richter scale has been registered in the southern Pacific Ocean, close to the South Sandwich Islands north of Antarctica on Tuesday.

According to reports ,”Its epicenter was 61 km northeast of Bristol Island, a small island composed of several active volcanoes”

Meanwhile, the earthquake has not triggered a tsunami warning.
