Bihar tragedy: In a tragic and fatal incident, deadly lightning strikes claimed the lives of 25 people and injured 39 others across several districts of Bihar in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed his condolences for the victims of the recent lightning strikes and directed officials to provide Rs 4 lakh compensation to each of the affected families. He also advised residents to remain indoors during rain and thunderstorms.
Among the 25 fatalities, five occurred in Madhubani, four in Aurangabad, three in Supaul, three in Nalanda, two each in Lakhisarai and Patna, and one each in Begusarai, Jamui, Gopalganj, Rohtas, Samastipur, and Purnea.

The Bihar State Disaster Management Authority reported that 50 people have died due to lightning strikes in July alone, although unofficial figures suggest the number may be higher.

The Meteorological Department has predicted moderate to heavy rain with thunderstorms and lightning in many areas, including Patna, on Friday. An 'Orange Alert' has been issued for Kishanganj and Araria districts.
