Indian Medical Association urges to upscale preparedness for any 2021-like situation

Chandigarh, December 22: The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has issued an advisory on impending Covid threat in the country and urged the public to follow protocols. 

In an advisory, the Indian Medical Association has asked the general public to avoid large gatherings such as political meetings and marriages to prevent the spread of Covid 19.  
 It has directed to wear face masks at all crowded places, besides following social distancing.

The IMA said regular hand washing with soap and water and using sanitisers at public places should become a norm. Pubic gatherings such as marriages and political meetings shall be avoided. Undertake international travel only if necessary.

The IMA said consult the doctor in case of any symptoms such as fever, cough, loose motions, sore throat etc. The general public has also been directed to get Covid vaccination done, especially precautionary dose.

Meanwhile, the Indian Medical Association has also appealed to the Centre to ramp up preparedness.
