PTC Web Desk:  In a major breakthrough against organised crime, the Haryana Special Task Force (STF), Karnal, has arrested four active sharpshooters linked to the Rohit Godara–Goldy Brar gang, officials said on Friday. The arrests were made as part of a sustained crackdown on inter-state and transnational criminal networks operating in and from Haryana.

According to the STF, the accused were moving in a bulletproof vehicle at the time of their arrest. Four foreign-made pistols and eight live cartridges were recovered from their possession, indicating their readiness to execute violent crimes.

Two of the accused, identified as Raman and Lokesh, residents of Mundri village in Kaithal district, were apprehended first from Karnal. Acting on further leads, the STF later arrested the remaining two suspects, Balraj alias Balram and Ravinder Singh alias Ravi, from the jurisdiction of Pundri police station in Kaithal district on January 14.

STF officials revealed that the four accused have earlier worked for networks associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang as well. Preliminary investigations have established their involvement in serious criminal activities while operating from the United States.

During interrogation, the accused reportedly admitted their role in two murders and one attempted murder in the US. Investigators said the group was involved in the killing of gangster Sunil Yadav alias Goliya in Stockton, California, on December 23, 2024, a crime for which responsibility was claimed on social media. The accused were also allegedly part of the conspiracy behind a deadly attack on gangster Harry Boxer in Fresno, California, on October 18, 2025. In that incident, Banwari Godara was shot dead at the scene.

The police said the accused returned to India after the killing of Banwari Godara and continued to operate an extortion racket targeting businessmen and individuals across Haryana, Delhi, Punjab and Rajasthan. Threat calls and incidents of firing were allegedly used to intimidate victims who refused to pay protection money.

Given the international dimensions of the case, the Haryana STF said it will formally share detailed information with Interpol and relevant US law enforcement agencies to ensure coordinated action and further investigation.

Senior STF officials described the arrests as a significant blow to cross-border organised crime and reiterated the force’s commitment to dismantling gang networks operating across states and countries.
