PTC News Desk: A landslide most likely triggered by a cloudburst struck remote village under Ghatu Panchayat in Kullu district’s Nirmand subdivision, causing significant damage and casualties.

The incident struck around 2:00 am while residents were asleep, leaving almost no time to escape.

One house was completely buried under the debris. So far, three people have been rescued, one person remains missing, and five bodies have been recovered.

Confirming the incident, SDM Nirmand Manmohan Singh said, "The landslide caused severe damage in the village. Rescue operations are underway with the help of the local administration, police, and disaster response teams."

The SDM also confirmed the recovery of one body and rescue of three victims from the site. The rescue teams are relentlessly carrying out relief operation to locate the missing persons. The difficult terrain and risk of further slides are reportedly hampering efforts.

Authorities have advised nearby villagers to stay on high alert as the weather in the region remains unstable. Rescue operations are still underway, and further updates are expected.
