IndiGo Jeddah-Hyderabad flight diverted to Mumbai after ‘human bomb’ threat

PTC Web Desk: An IndiGo flight from Jeddah to Hyderabad was diverted to Mumbai on Saturday following a “human bomb” threat received by the airport authorities. According to officials, the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Hyderabad received a threatening email around 5.30 am, claiming that IndiGo flight 6E 68 had a “human bomb” onboard. The message warned the authorities not to allow the aircraft to land in Hyderabad.
Following the alert, the flight was immediately diverted to Mumbai as a precautionary measure. The plane landed safely, and security agencies began a thorough inspection after passengers were evacuated.
Authorities have launched an investigation to trace the source of the threat and ensure the safety of all passengers and crew members.

Confirming the development, an IndiGo spokesperson said that flight 6E 68, operating from Jeddah to Hyderabad, received a security threat on November 1, leading to its diversion to Mumbai.
“In response to a security alert concerning IndiGo flight 6E 68 from Jeddah to Hyderabad on November 1, the aircraft was diverted to Mumbai. As per standard safety procedures, all relevant authorities were immediately informed, and the airline fully cooperated with them in conducting the required security checks before the flight was cleared for further operations,” the airline’s spokesperson stated.
