Ketan Aggarwal murder: Siya, Chetan taken to Pune Lohgarh Fort to recreate crime 10 days after killing
The accused, Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary, were taken to the fort at around 6:30 am as part of the investigation into the June 18 incident.
PTC News Desk: Police on Sunday took the two accused in the death of Pune realtor Ketan Agarwal to Lohagad Fort to recreate the crime scene and verify the sequence of events that led to his death.
The accused, Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary, were taken to the fort at around 6:30 am as part of the investigation into the June 18 incident.
According to police, the 26-year-old Agarwal allegedly died after being pushed into a deep gorge by Goyal and Chaudhary. During the reconstruction exercise, investigators used a mannequin to simulate the fall. The dummy was pushed from the fort walls to help police understand how the incident may have occurred.
Officials said the exercise was also aimed at verifying the statements made by the accused regarding the location and manner in which Agarwal was allegedly pushed. Investigators believe the accused may have rehearsed the act in a similar way before carrying out the crime.
During questioning, Goyal allegedly told police that she did not want to marry Agarwal. Investigators claim she conspired with Chaudhary to kill him because she feared that calling off the engagement would bring embarrassment and disrepute to her family.
The investigation is continuing, with police examining several aspects of the case, including the alleged planning of the crime, the movements of the accused before and after the incident, their digital records and communications, and the motive behind the alleged murder.
