Indian student found dead in London hours after attending birthday party, family seeks help to bring body home

PTC News Desk: A 25-year-old student from Telangana's Kamareddy district was found dead in the United Kingdom under circumstances that are still unclear, prompting his family to seek government assistance to bring his body back to India.

The student, identified as S Srinath Reddy, was pursuing a Master's degree at De Montfort University. He had moved to the UK about 14 months ago for higher studies.

As the exact cause of his death has not yet been officially confirmed, his family said they are still waiting for clear information from the authorities. His father, Madhusudan Reddy, appealed to both the Central and Telangana governments to help bring his son's mortal remains home as soon as possible.

According to the family, Srinath spoke to them on the night of June 22 and appeared normal, showing no signs of distress. His father said that he later attended a birthday celebration that evening.

A relative stated that Srinath's roommate reportedly found him dead the next morning, on June 23. The roommate later informed friends that Srinath had allegedly died by suicide. However, the family said they learned about the incident only through friends and acquaintances and have not yet received official confirmation regarding the circumstances of his death.

So far, UK authorities have not publicly disclosed the cause of death, and no official statement has been issued about the case.

Meanwhile, a fundraising campaign on GoFundMe, reportedly created by Srinath's cousins, has been launched to help cover the costs of bringing his body back to India.

The family continues to await official communication from the authorities while urging the government to expedite the repatriation process.
