'Push her off the fort if found guilty': Siya's parents' react in distress, demand harshest punishment for her
PTC News Desk: In an emotional interview, Praveen Goyal, the father of Siya Goyal, who is the main accused in the murder of her fiancé Ketan Agarwal, said that if his daughter is found guilty, she should receive the strictest punishment, even the death penalty.
His comments came a few days after police alleged that Siya Goyal and her alleged boyfriend, Chetan Chaudhary, planned to kill Ketan by pushing him into a gorge at Pune's Lohagad Fort on June 18. Both Siya and Chetan are currently in judicial custody.
Praveen Goyal said he is still unable to believe the allegations against his daughter. He also revealed that the shock of her arrest affected him so badly that he had to be admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU).
"I still cannot believe that my daughter could do something like this. She never lied to me and always did the right thing," he said.
Ketan Agarwal, a 25-year-old director of a real estate company, was initially believed to have died after accidentally falling into a gorge at Lohagad Fort. However, the investigation later took a major turn when police found evidence suggesting that his death was part of a planned murder, leading to the arrest of his fiancée Siya Goyal and her alleged boyfriend, Chetan Chaudhary.
He added: "We did not have any prior knowledge about Siya's love affairs. Siya was a simple girl. She is 19 years old. Would a 19-year-old girl do such a thing? I don't know anything about him. Where did Chetan come from? I've never seen his face, nor have I ever spoken to him in my life. He has never been to our house. Ketan's family members are very good, cultured people... We've lost a son and a wonderful relationship... There will be an investigation. Let the investigation take place. I would only want that whatever result comes out, work should be done on it, and the guilty person should be punished..."
