NEET-PG chaos: Students stage protest in Jaipur over multiple technical disruptions during exam; check dates for re-exam

PTC News Desk: What was expected to be an important three-hour NEET-PG 2026 exam turned into a frustrating experience for candidates at a test centre in Jaipur’s Sitapura area on Sunday. Repeated power and technical problems disrupted the computer-based examination.

Candidates said the power supply kept going off at regular intervals, with some claiming the problem occurred every 10 to 15 minutes. The glitches affected the login process, access to questions and their ability to continue the exam.

The disruptions angered the candidates, who later gathered outside the centre and staged a protest. They demanded action and a fair solution to the problem.

The incident has once again raised questions about the arrangements at examination centres, particularly for high-stakes exams where technical problems can affect candidates’ performance.

The problems occurred despite the extensive security, technology and monitoring arrangements made for the nationwide examination.

2,445 candidates affected

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) said an unexpected technical problem occurred at the iON Digital Zone iDZ Sitapura centres in Jaipur, identified as Test Centre Nos. 41682 and 41683.

According to NBEMS, 2,445 candidates could not complete the examination because of internal power supply problems at the centres. The board attributed the issue to M/s TCS Ltd., the agency conducting the examination.

NBEMS expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to the affected candidates.

Re-exam on September 5

To ensure that all affected candidates get a fair and equal opportunity to take NEET-PG 2026, NBEMS has decided to conduct the examination again for all 2,445 candidates on September 5.
