Pilot, captain sustain injuries after private plane crashes in Karnatakas Vijaypura

The crash took place under the Babaleshwar Police Station area. Police reached the spot soon after getting information about the incident.

PTC News Desk: A captain and a trainee pilot were injured after a private training aircraft of Red Bird Aviation crashed due to an engine problem in Karnataka’s Vijayapura district on Sunday.


The accident happened in Mangalore village. The small aircraft had two people on board at the time. Both were injured and taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance. The aircraft crashed into a field, and visuals from the spot showed the plane flipped over after hitting the ground, with heavy damage to its front part.


The crash took place under the Babaleshwar Police Station area. Police reached the spot soon after getting information about the incident. Officials said the aircraft was flying from Kalaburagi to Belagavi when it developed a technical engine fault and suddenly crashed.


The investigation officer confirmed that the two people on board were the captain and a trainee pilot. Both suffered serious injuries and are receiving treatment at a hospital. Further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
