Have courage to find answers: PM Modis message to Gen Z in first public address after CJP protest
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that every generation has a responsibility towards the nation and urged young people to make the country's overall development a key goal in their lives.
PTC News Desk: In his first public address after Cockroach Janta Party protests in New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi advised the students to test things that are accepted without thinking, raise questions and, more importantly, have the courage during his address at IIT Delhi’s 57th Convocation.
IIT Delhi celebrated its 57th convocation on Saturday where over 3,000 students and 587 PhD scholars were present.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that every generation has a responsibility towards the nation and urged young people to make the country's overall development a key goal in their lives.
He said every generation faces different challenges and has its own responsibilities. Modi told the youth that what they do over the next 30 to 35 years will play an important role in India's journey towards becoming a ‘Viksit Bharat’.

“We have faith in you. The country needs you", PM Modi said.
“… The global strategic equation is shifting swiftly. The global power balance is evolving by the moment, driven primarily by the pace of technological advancement. No one can say with certainty what the world will look like in the next 20 or 30 years… The world, technology, industries, and professions will all evolve. But amidst all this, remember one thing: those who keep learning will succeed", he said.
PM Modi’s address came after the recent CJP protests at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar over the paper leak controversy linked to the NEET-UG 2026 that culminated with the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
PM Modi also highlighted the growing importance of technology in today's rapidly changing world. He said people who are able to adapt to new technological developments will ultimately succeed.
Gen Z touch to PM's address
Talking about the successful launch of Skyroot's Vikram-1 rocket, Modi said the government has created several opportunities for young people to contribute to the country's progress.
Giving his speech a Gen Z flavour, he said India's youth today can proudly say they are the "first in my bloodline to build a rocket". He added that young Indians are now not just dreaming about space technology but are actually launching rockets.
