Shillong-bound Indigo flight receives bomb threat; passengers deboarded, plane grounded
The airline said it immediately initiated standard operating procedures and conducting necessary security checks.
PTC News Desk: A Shillong-bound Indigo flight on Saturday morning was grounded after it received a bomb threat. Passengers were subsequently evacuated and a thorough security check was conducted after a crew member discovered a handwritten threat note onboard the aircraft.
In a statement, IndiGo said a “security threat was noticed onboard IndiGo flight 6E 7304 operating from Kolkata to Shillong on 14 February 2026.” The airline said it immediately initiated standard operating procedures and conducting necessary security checks.
Soon after receiving the threat, the aircraft was moved to an isolation bay after a crew member found a note inside the aircraft’s lavatory claiming that a bomb had been placed onboard. As a preventive measure, passengers were deboarded after the discovery and rigorour security checks were conducted.
No suspicious material or susbstance has been found on the plane so far. However a detailed outcome of the security inspection is awaited.
