PTC News Desk: A 41-year-old executive of Saraswati Paradise International Public School, Manisha Mittal, was shot dead in broad daylight outside the institution in Shimla's Sanjauli by bike-borne assailants on Saturday.

The assailants immediately fled the scene after firing two bullets, killing victim on the spot.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Shimla, Abhishek, said, “The entire area was cordoned, and a team of forensic experts was called on the spot. The victim died on the spot.”

Manisha, a resident of Haryana's Rewari district, had been living with her minor daughter in a house on the school campus for the past one and a half months. Police informed her husband, Subhash Yadav, about the incident.

While officials have not disclosed details of the ongoing investigation, sources said Manisha was involved in a dispute with relatives over the school, which was established by her parents around two decades ago. Related legal cases are reportedly pending in courts in Shimla.

Police have registered a murder case at Sanjauli police station and are investigating all possible angles behind the killing.

Last month, the victim was allegedly live on her Facebook page and alleged mistreatment with her and an alleged threat to her life, the sources claimed.

“Later, another video was shared widely wherein a man from Haryana reportedly claimed that the dispute involving Manisha Mittal and her relatives was resolved.”

Sources also claimed, “In the purported live video on her Facebook page, the victim had alleged that her father founded the school, but one of the close relatives wanted to bar her from getting ownership of the school.”
