PTC Web Desk: In a shocking incident at Guru Nanak School in Uttarakhand’s Udham Singh Nagar, a physics teacher was shot by his student who allegedly hid a pistol inside his lunch box. The victim, identified as Gagandeep Singh Kohli, had reportedly slapped the student earlier this week. On Wednesday, when Kohli was leaving the classroom after the mid-morning break, the student pulled out the firearm and shot him from behind.

The bullet entered through the teacher’s back and got lodged in his neck. He was immediately rushed to a private hospital, where doctors performed emergency surgery.

According to police, the teenager had carried the weapon by concealing it in his tiffin box. After firing, he tried to escape but was restrained by other teachers before being handed over to the authorities. The pistol has since been recovered.

A case has been registered under Section 109 of the IPC against the minor. Investigations are underway to determine how the boy managed to obtain the firearm.
