Chandigarh bomb threat: Panic after 5 top schools receive threat rmails, massive search undertaken
PTC Web Desk: Chandigarh witnessed a wave of panic after five prominent schools across different sectors received bomb threat emails on Thursday morning, prompting swift action from police and security agencies.
According to initial reports, the schools that received the threats include Ryan International School in Sector 49, St Stephen’s School in Sector 45, Ajit Karam Singh School in Sector 41, St. Anne’s School in Sector 32, and St. John’s School in Sector 26.
Following the alerts, police teams, along with bomb disposal squads and dog units, were immediately deployed to the locations. Comprehensive search operations were launched across all school premises to ensure safety and rule out any potential threat.
As a precautionary measure, school authorities prioritised the safety of students and staff. Several schools initiated emergency protocols, including early dismissal of students and controlled evacuation where necessary.
Police officials confirmed that security has been intensified across the city. Additional personnel have been stationed around the affected institutions, and surveillance has been increased to monitor any suspicious activity.
As of now, no suspicious objects have been recovered from any of the school campuses. Authorities continue to investigate the source of the threatening emails while maintaining heightened vigilance across Chandigarh.
