October 7 has been declared as an off in Amritsar to mark the birth anniversary of Guru Ramdas Ji. SGPC had sent an appeal to district administration earlier for the same. “Devotees and tourists from across world visit the Golden Temple. When they will see the lighting, they will get curious and would want to know its cause. In turn, they will learn about the guru,”  Kirpal Singh Badungar said. Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), for the first time, will illuminate Sri Guru Ram Das Jee International Airport, Amritsar railway station, inter-state bus terminal and all its institutions to celebrate the fourth Sikh guru Ram Das’s birth anniversary on October 7. -PTC NEWS
