PM Narendra Modi announces Credit Guarantee Scheme of Rs 50,000 cr for health infrastructure

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on the occasion of Doctors' Day 2021, announced a Credit Guarantee Scheme of Rs 50,000 cr for health infrastructure. Even as he thanked all the doctors for helping in the battle against the coronavirus pandemic.

"On behalf of 130 crore Indians, I want to thank all the doctors," PM Narendra Modi said during his address to the nation on Doctors' Day 2021.

"Our doctors, their knowledge and experience have helped us battle this coronavirus. The budget allocation for the health sector has been doubled," he said.

"We have come up with a Credit Guarantee Scheme of Rs 50,000 crores to strengthen the health infrastructure in such areas, where there is a lack of health facilities," PM Modi said.

He further said that "Today, our doctors were making and implementing protocols for COVID-19. "Earlier, we all saw how medical infrastructure was ignored," he said, adding that "despite all problems, "India’s condition was somewhere stable than other developed countries."

Likewise, he asked people to follow COVID appropriate behaviour with more awareness.

These days, people from the medical fraternity are coming forward to promote Yoga, he said, adding that many modern medical science institutions are doing studies on how yoga is helping in fighting post-COVID complications.
