Amid growing concerns over the second wave of coronavirus in India, the Chief of Army Staff General Manoj Mukund Naravane called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday.
Both PM Narendra Modi and Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane discussed various initiatives being taken by the Army to help in Covid-19 management amid the second wave of coronavirus in India.

General MM Naravane informed the Prime Minister that the medical staff of the Army was being made available to various state governments.

He also briefed the PM that Army was setting up temporary hospitals in various parts of the country.
He apprised the PM that Army was opening up its hospitals for the civilians wherever possible. He also added that citizens can approach their nearest army hospitals.
Naravane informed the PM that the Army is helping with manpower for imported Oxygen tankers and vehicles where specialised skills are required to manage them.
India has been recording more than 3 lakh new cases for the past few days. The coronavirus situation in India was only getting worse. It has also led a major health crisis including the shortage of beds, oxygen supply and vaccines.
