PTC News Desk: A Vistara flight destined for New Delhi returned to Bhubaneswar minutes after takeoff and made an emergency landing after being caught in a hailstorm, according to an official.

All 169 passengers and crew on board are safe.

The Vistara plane landed at Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA)  less than 10 minutes after takeoff, according to officials.

According to information, the aircraft's windshield cracked due to the hailstorm that hit many parts of Odisha this afternoon.

"A windshield has been damaged, while no harm was caused to the passengers," BPIA Director Prasanna Pradhan informed on Wednesday.
