Viral news: Woman’s dual ‘voting’ posts from Pune and Bihar go viral after Rahul Gandhi’s fraud allegations
Two posts, each showing her inked finger, triggered a flurry of reactions, with opposition leaders claiming it was further proof of duplicate voting under BJP rule
PTC Web Desk: Days after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi alleged large-scale voter fraud involving the use of a Brazilian woman’s photograph in Haryana’s electoral rolls, a new controversy has surfaced, this time featuring an Indian woman accused of voting in two different states.
A social media user identified as Urrmi, whose verified X (formerly Twitter) account has now gone viral, found herself at the centre of the row after two of her posts surfaced online. The first, dated May 13, 2024, showed her posing with an inked finger after voting in Pune during the Lok Sabha elections, with the caption: “Go Vote, Pune! Voted for development, voted for clean governance, voted for a Modi-fied India!”
The second post, shared on November 6, 2025, read: “Voted for a Modi-fied India! Jaai ke vote daali, Bihar!”
The two posts, each showing her inked finger, triggered a flurry of reactions, with opposition leaders claiming it was further proof of duplicate voting under BJP rule. Maharashtra Congress spokesperson Atul Londhe Patil shared screenshots of the two posts, remarking, “I will vote in Maharashtra in the Lok Sabha. I will vote in Bihar in the Vidhan Sabha. I will steal votes for Modi.”
However, the woman later issued a clarification, saying her second post was sarcastic and not an admission of voter fraud. She wrote: “Okay, this was just for motivation. I never said I voted today; I said I voted. Everyone knows it was in Maharashtra. So calm down! Motivated enough? Now your turn, Bihar. Go vote!!”
Brazilian model’s image in voter list sparks global attention
The controversy comes just days after Rahul Gandhi accused the Election Commission of voter fraud by using the same woman’s image multiple times in Haryana’s electoral records. The woman was later identified as Larissa Nery, a Brazilian model, who reacted in a video message expressing shock. “They are using my old photo for what seems like an election in India, portraying me as an Indian woman to mislead others,” she said.
