With escalation of tension after revocation of the special status granted to Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan has refused to allow President Ram Nath Kovind entry into its airspace to fly to Iceland. Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi confirmed the details and said the move was prompted by India’s “recent behaviour” on bilateral issues. "The Indian President had sought permission to use Pakistan's airspace to travel to Iceland but we decided not to permit him," Qureshi said, adding that the decision had been backed by Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan. The minister also voiced his intention to raise the Kashmir issue with the United Nations Human Rights Council.
