PTC Web Desk: PTC Network hosted the PTC Sewa Sanmaan Awards 2025, an event dedicated to honouring the extraordinary individuals and organisations that stood at the forefront of rescue and relief operations during the deadly Punjab floods earlier this year.

The Governor of Punjab, Gulab Chand Kataria, was the chief guest on the occasion, who honoured the individuals and NGO representatives.

Among the many inspiring stories celebrated at the event, 10-year-old Gurfateh Singh emerged as the youngest awardee of the evening. His heartfelt gesture of donating his entire piggy bank savings towards flood relief efforts moved the audience.

Recognitions were also presented to several organisations and notable individuals, including Global Sikhs, Educate Punjab, Tera Hi Tera Mission Chandigarh, Khalsa Unity, Vikramveer Singh Bawa, and Dr Vikramjeet Singh Sahney, MP, for their exceptional contributions in evacuation, aid distribution, and post-flood rehabilitation.

The evening saw strong support from the Punjabi entertainment fraternity, with prominent personalities such as Gurpreet Ghuggi, Gavie Chahal, Binnu Dhillon and Sonali Singh from the Saanjh Foundation being also honoured on the occasion.

On the occasion, 'Rangle Sardar' singers held the audience spellbound with their performance.

Earlier, delivering the welcome address, Harpreet Singh Sahni, CEO, PTC News, highlighted the relentless on-ground efforts made by a dedicated PTC team during the floods. He said, "Journalism is not merely about presenting facts but also about being present with the people, amplifying their struggles and mobilising help where it’s needed most."

Rajiee M Shinde, CEO, PTC Entertainment Channels, said, "The awards are more than recognition; they are a celebration of Punjab’s undefeatable spirit. At a time when floodwaters rose, compassion rose higher. Honouring these celebrities and NGOs is indeed a proud moment for us at PTC Network. By honouring them, we reinforced our commitment towards social responsibility and community welfare. The event may have concluded, but the impact and inspiration it created will continue.

In his keynote remarks, the Governor praised community organisations and volunteers. "During moments when institutional systems fall short, it is the collective strength of citizens and NGOs that safeguards the spirit of humanity," said the Governor. He hailed PTC Network for creating a platform that shines a light on such exemplary service.

Narinder Pal Singh, Editor, PTC Output, said Punjab floods taught us that real safety lies in unity. "Every volunteer, every donor, every organisation became a pillar of strength. The heroes honoured today remind us that public safety is not only a government responsibility, but a shared commitment," he added.
