DM Gagandeep Singh Randhawa suicide case: A troubling development has come to the fore in the case of Gagandeep Singh Randhawa, the warehouse DM who allegedly died by suicide in Amritsar, after being harassed by former Punjab minister Laljit Singh Bhullar. His family has alleged that the electricity supply to their home has been deliberately tampered with.
According to the family, the incident took place on Saturday evening when police officials were present at their residence to record statements. During this time, the power suddenly went out. Initially, the family assumed it was a routine outage or a technical fault. However, late at night, electricity was restored in nearby houses but not to their residence.
Electrician finds cut wires
When the family called an electrician, it was found that the wires connecting the meter to the house had been cut. The matter was immediately brought to the notice of the police. Senior officers reached the spot and examined CCTV footage from the area.
CCTV footage shows two suspects
As per the family’s claims, the CCTV recordings show two unidentified persons near the house around the time of the incident. They are suspected to be involved in cutting the wires and were seen leaving the area shortly after.
The family is suspecting it to be a planned attempt to scare or pressure the family.
Demand for CBI Probe
The family has urged Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to order a CBI investigation into the entire case .
Meanwhile, the police have increased security outside the family’s residence following the incident
