Punjab and Haryana HC lawyers call of strike following FIR against Hisar official
Chandigarh Bar Association honorary secretary Gagandeep Jammu said that the government has accepted and fulfilled all the demands raised by the association.
PTC News Desk: The lawyers at the Punjab and Haryana High Court have ended their strike following assurance to fulfill their demands. The Bar Association has announced that the lawyers will resume work from December 19.
Chandigarh Bar Association honorary secretary Gagandeep Jammu said that the government has accepted and fulfilled all the demands raised by the association. Assuring the lawyers, he said officials of CIA-1, Hisar, have been named in the FIR, and relevant sections of law, including provisions of the Arms Act, have been added.
In addition, the concerned SHO has been transferred to the police lines, and departmental action has been initiated against him through the competent authority.
Gagandeep Jammu said that since their demands have been addressed, all lawyers have been asked to return to work from December 19.
It may be noted that the Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association had called for a statewide shutdown, demanding action against CIA-1 Hisar officials in connection with the alleged assault on a lawyer.
