Tarn Taran police arrest key financier in AAP sarpanch Harbarinder Singh murder case; nabbed from Amritsar airport

Accused Sukhbir Singh was attempting to flee to Dubai; he allegedly facilitated financial transactions amounting to Rs 2 lakh in connection with murder plot

PTC Web Desk:  In a major breakthrough in the murder case of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) sarpanch Harbarinder Singh, the Tarn Taran police have arrested a key accused who allegedly arranged shooters and provided financial assistance for the crime.

According to police officials, the arrested accused has been identified as Sukhbir Singh, who was attempting to flee to Dubai. Acting swiftly, the police intercepted and arrested him at Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport in Amritsar after stopping his flight.

The SSP, Tarn Taran, revealed that Sukhbir Singh was in contact with foreign-based gangster Satta Naushera. Preliminary investigations indicate that the accused facilitated financial transactions amounting to Rs 2 lakh in connection with the murder plot. Further financial links and transactions are currently under investigation.

Seven arrested so far; weapons recovered

The SSP confirmed that the police have so far arrested seven accused in connection with the sarpanch murder case. During the investigation, authorities recovered: 4 pistols and 2 motorcycles. The police believe the weapons and vehicles were used in executing the crime.

In connection with the case, the Tarn Taran police have also released sketches of two absconding accused: Manpreet Singh and Gurdev Singh.

The police have announced a reward for anyone providing credible information leading to their arrest. The identity of informants will be kept strictly confidential.

Authorities stated that further investigations are underway to trace additional financial transactions, criminal links and possible conspirators connected to the murder of Harbarinder Singh.
