Tragic: One-year-old burnt to death after children playing with matchsticks spark fire

PTC News Desk: A heart-wrenching incident came to light from Ludhiana’s Bhamiya area, where a one-year-old boy named Arjun died after a fire broke out while children were playing with matchsticks. The tragic event occurred on Saturday morning around 10 a.m.
According to reports, Arjun’s parents had an argument the previous night, and the tension continued into the morning. His mother, Reena Devi in order to make peace went outside to take the food to the factory for her husband.
In her absence, around seven to eight children came to the house and started playing with the matchsticks. Soon after the spark engulfed the blanket in which the child was wrapped inflicting grave burn injuries.
Reena Devi said that as she was returned home, she saw flames rising from her house. When she rushed inside, she found Arjun severely burnt.
Upon hearing the news, Arjun’s father immediately rushed home and took the child to the Civil Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The father said the accident occurred because the children were playing with matchstickes inside the house.
