Punjab: Contractual employees to block PUNBUS, PRTC bus stands for 4 hours

Punjab News: The protesting contractual employees have decided to block PUNBUS and PRTC bus stands across the state for 4 hours on Wednesday.

Thus, the PUNBUS and PRTC bus stands would be blocked from 10 am to 2 pm on Wednesday, August 4.

Punjab Roadways, PRTC staff go on 3-day strike throughout the state

Meanwhile, Punjab Transport Minister Razia Sultana has convened a meeting on August 6. On the other side, the contractual employees of PUNBUS and PRTC have announced to go on strike from August 9 to 11.

The three-day strike from August 9 has been announced as a part of which a protest will be staged outside the residence of chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh or state Congress president Navjot Singh Sidhu on August 10.

Earlier, Union’s district president Shamsher Singh had said that the government had promised to regularise the contractual staff before the 2017 Assembly Elections. However, it's been four years but no steps have been taken in this regard, he said.

Adding, he said that the state transport minister Razia Sultana had also assured to fulfil our demand but we will start an indefinite strike if the government fails to act soon.

Punjab Roadways and PRTC Contractual Employees Union have been protest against the delay in regularisation of contractual staff.
