Singhu and Tikri borders remain closed for traffic movement: Delhi Traffic Police

Amid farmers protest against the farm laws 2020, the Tikri border and Singhu border have been closed for any traffic movement, the Delhi Traffic Police said.

The Delhi Traffic Police stated that "Tikri Border is closed for any traffic movement. Badusarai and Jhatikara Borders are open only for two-wheeler traffic."

"Available open borders to Haryana are - Jharoda, Dhansa, Daurala, Kapashera, Rajokri NH 8, Bijwasan/Bajghera, Palam vihar, and Dundahera," it added.

Likewise, the Singhu Border is still closed from both sides due to ongoing farmers protest against farm laws 2020 near Delhi borders.

"Traffic diverted from Mukarba Chowk and GTK road. Traffic is very very heavy," the police stated, adding "Please avoid outer ring road from Signature Bridge to Rohini and vice versa, GTK Road, NH 44 and Singhu border."

Meanwhile, the farmers are set for a meeting with the Central government. The farmers have made it clear that this is the last time that they are going to the Union Ministers. If no decision would be taken then the ministers would have to come to them, they said. Due to the protests, the Singhu and Tikri borders have been closed.

The farmers have been protesting against the Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2020, the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill, 2020, and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act 2020.
