Himachal Pradesh tourism: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced in a video message on Thursday that the state is now open to tourists. He mentioned that most of the roads that were previously blocked due to monsoon-related disruptions have been restored for traffic.

Sukhu emphasized the efforts made by the state government to swiftly restore the road infrastructure, ensuring safe travel for tourists. To further entice visitors, hoteliers in popular travel destinations across the state are offering attractive discounts. Additionally, discounts on air travel to destinations like Shimla and Dharamshala are available.

The Chief Minister assured tourists that it is now safe to visit the state, encouraging them to explore Himachal Pradesh. The region experienced heavy rainfall in July and August, resulting in flash floods and landslides that caused extensive damage to both public and private property, as well as loss of lives.

Himachal Pradesh's tourism sector, valued at Rs 14,000 crore, plays a significant role in providing employment, accounting for approximately 14.42% of direct and indirect jobs in the state.
