If you have a separate puja room, try to place the idols of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha in its north-east section. If this is not possible, you can choose a clean and peaceful spot in the east or north direction of your home.
Always place the idols on a raised platform or wooden chowki instead of keeping them directly on the floor.
For the traditional Diwali puja arrangement, keep these points in mind:
Place the idols of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha together on the puja platform.
Keep the idols at a suitable height and leave enough space for flowers, sweets and other offerings.
Arrange them properly so that both idols are clearly visible during the puja.
If possible, place the puja platform in the north-east corner of the house.
Keep the area around the idols clean, tidy and free from unnecessary items.
The left-right placement of the two idols may differ from one family tradition to another. It is best to follow your family's usual puja customs instead of changing the arrangement based on different instructions available online.
