He then invited the woman officer onto the stage and affectionately placed his hand on her head. “I get to meet my mother once or twice a year. But when you were standing there, I thought my mother was standing there,” he told her.
“ If you are not here, we wouldn’t feel safe,” he said.
He also recalled a conversation with his mother earlier that day. She had told him to take care of himself. Dosanjh said that when he saw the officer, he felt as though his mother was standing beside him.

Diljit's 'I am an artist' jab at CJP's Dipke
Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) leader Abhijeet Dipke has sent a warm message to Diljit Dosanjh, days after the singer’s big Delhi concert. He also spoke openly about a remark from June that had upset him.
In his post, Dipke told the singer that his respect for him has not changed. He said the hurt came from a place of love, not anger. According to him, he had always seen Diljit as someone who stands up for causes and that is why the comment stung.
“Paaji, I was a little hurt by your comment,” Dipke wrote, making it clear he had nothing against Diljit personally.
Diljit’s reply at the Delhi show
The topic came up again on Friday at the first show of Diljit’s seven-city Aura India Tour at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. Speaking to the crowd, he said Punjabis do not need lessons on how to fight for a cause.
He also brought up the film on human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra and said it took a long fight to get it made. He added that he prefers to stay calm and spread love, even towards people who dislike him. Diljit also said the police action at the Jantar Mantar protest was wrong, and that the authorities should listen to the students’ demands.
The concert was scheduled to begin at 4 pm, but Dosanjh later asked fans on social media to arrive at 6.30 pm. Rain and logistical issues caused further delays, and the show began at around 7.40 pm.
The performance lasted about two hours and 20 minutes, featuring music, pyrotechnics, lasers, a drone show and synchronised lights. The set included songs by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, the Hare Ram Hare Ram track from Bhool Bhulaiyaa, and several of Dosanjh’s own hits. Dosanjh also interacted with the audience, accepting gifts, posing for photographs and encouraging fans to sing along. He gave return gifts to people invited on stage. The crowd included children under 10 as well as adult fans.
