Rangla Punjab: Punjab tourism minister unveils series of festivals to revive state's cultural heritage

'Rangla Punjab' series features 190 state-wide festivals celebrating Punjab's cultural heritage year-round.

Rangla Punjab: Punjab Tourism Minister Anmol Gagan Maan has unveiled an ambitious plan to revive the rich cultural heritage of the state through a series of festivals. The initiative, called "Rangla Punjab," will feature a total of 190 festivals that will be celebrated across Punjab throughout the year.

Minister Maan expressed her excitement about the launch of the cultural festivals, highlighting their significance in preserving and promoting the cultural legacy of Punjab. The festivals will serve as a platform to showcase the vibrant traditions, art forms, and customs that have been an integral part of Punjab's identity.

The inaugural festival of the series will be the "Teeyan Festival," which is scheduled to take place in Sangrur from August 18 to 20. This festival, dedicated to celebrating the monsoon season, is known for its lively music, dance performances, and traditional games.

Apart from the Teeyan Festival, a diverse range of festivals will be organised across the state. These festivals will cover various aspects of Punjab's cultural heritage, including martial arts, culinary arts, military carnival, river festivals, and nature trails. The aim is to offer a comprehensive experience that reflects the multifaceted nature of Punjab's cultural tapestry.

Minister Maan also emphasised the importance of honoring the Sufi tradition in Punjab. As part of the "Rangla Punjab" series, a dedicated festival celebrating Sufi music and spirituality will be held in Malerkotla. This event will provide an opportunity for visitors to immerse themselves in the mystical and soul-stirring Sufi traditions that have influenced Punjab's cultural fabric.

Furthermore, the festival series will feature an "Inquilab" festival in Khatkar Kalan, paying tribute to the rich history of Punjab's struggle for independence. Additionally, a "Tibba festival" will be organised in Mansa, showcasing the region's scenic beauty and promoting eco-tourism.

The announcement of the "Rangla Punjab" festival series has generated enthusiasm among both locals and tourists. It is anticipated that these festivals will not only attract visitors from across the country but also contribute to the overall economic growth of the state's tourism sector.

With the launch of these festivals, Punjab aims to create a vibrant cultural atmosphere, fostering a sense of pride and appreciation for its heritage.
