Iran’s Khamenei vows retaliation against Israel, says nation will not forget ‘martyrs’

Israel's missiles can last just 10-12 days: Report

Despite claiming major successes against Iran’s military infrastructure, Israel is facing a critical shortage of long-range missile interceptors, according to The Wall Street Journal. Citing US intelligence sources, the report warns that Israel’s air defences — particularly the Arrow system — may only hold for 10 to 12 more days if Iran maintains its current pace of attacks.

Since the launch of Operation Rising Lion last Friday, Iran has fired around 400 ballistic missiles. While Israel has intercepted most using its layered defence system — including Iron Dome, David’s Sling, Arrow, and U.S.-supplied Patriots — the cost and pace are unsustainable.

One interceptor from the Arrow system costs $3 million, with nightly defence operations estimated at up to $285 million. Amid mounting pressure, Iranian missiles have already struck near the IDF HQ in Tel Aviv, a Haifa oil refinery, and a northern intelligence base. Israel has confirmed 24 deaths and over 600 injuries so far.

Defrin emphasised the contrast in targets, saying, "We are focusing on military sites, while they continue to target civilian homes."

On the other side, Iranian officials report at least 224 deaths in Iran since the hostilities began.

Iran warns of all-out war if US intervenes in conflict with Israel

Iran's Foreign Ministry on Wednesday warned that any American involvement in its confrontation with Israel could lead to a full-scale war. The ministry’s spokesperson made the statement during a live interview with Al Jazeera.

The warning came a day after US President Donald Trump hinted at supporting Israel. Trump said, "We now control Iran’s airspace. We know exactly where the Supreme Leader is hiding. Reaching him would be very easy, but we won’t strike—at least not for now."

The report states that during Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's visit to the White House in February 2025, he presented a detailed briefing on Iran’s nuclear programme to US President Donald Trump in the Oval Office.

No signs of de-escalation between Israel, Iran

Tensions between Israel and Iran continue to rise with no indication of either side stepping back. On the sixth day of the escalating conflict, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei vowed, “We will show the Zionists no mercy,” while Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz responded, “A storm is passing over Tehran. This is how dictatorships collapse.”

Israel has defended its recent airstrikes by claiming they were aimed at stopping Iran’s suspected push toward developing a nuclear weapon. The strikes, Israeli officials said, came after months of stalled diplomatic talks with the United States. US President Donald Trump, now leading the response, said the military action followed a 60-day deadline set for Iran to resume meaningful negotiations.

Iran, however, insists that its nuclear programme is entirely peaceful. While it is enriching uranium up to 60% purity—just below weapons-grade—US intelligence agencies currently assess that Iran is not actively building a nuclear bomb.

US edging closer to military action against Iran?

There are reports that the United States may be edging closer to military action against Iran. US President Donald Trump reportedly spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu late Tuesday, though no official summary of the call has been released. Still, the conversation likely centered on escalating tensions in the region.

Earlier that day, Trump spent over an hour in the White House Situation Room in meetings with top cabinet officials, senior generals, and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, reportedly discussing potential next steps.

Current indicators suggest that diplomatic avenues and discussions of a potential deal are no longer being pursued. Instead, momentum appears to be building toward military intervention. It remains unclear whether this would be a solo US initiative or a joint operation with Israel.

Trump’s recent posts on Truth Social have further fueled speculation. In them, he called for Iran’s “unconditional surrender” and notably used the pronoun “we” when referring to air dominance over Iranian skies — a shift from previous statements that attributed such control solely to Israel. This language hints at a deepening collaboration between Washington and Tel Aviv.

In a striking message directed at Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Trump wrote, “We know where you are, but we’re not going to kill you — at least for now,” reinforcing the perception that military action could be imminent.

Despite rising hostilities with Israel, all of Iran’s land border crossings remain open, an Iranian official confirmed. Javad Hedayati, head of Iran’s transit bureau, told Tasnim news agency that border points are operating normally for both passengers and freight. However, he noted that the movement of people and goods into the country has slowed due to security concerns. Foreign nationals, including Pakistani, Chinese, and South Korean citizens, have begun evacuating via land routes as air travel has been suspended. The situation remains tense as Israel continues its military strikes on Iranian territory.

Israeli strikes kill 585 across Iran, says rights group

At least 585 persons have been killed and 1,326 injured across Iran in recent Israeli strikes, according to the Washington-based Human Rights Activists group. The organisation, which gained recognition for documenting the 2022 Mahsa Amini protests, reported that the dead include 239 civilians and 126 security personnel. The group says it relies on a verified network of sources within Iran to collect and confirm data.

Despite the growing toll, the Iranian government has downplayed the scale of the damage. The last official figures were released on Monday, citing 224 deaths and 1,277 injuries. Tehran has not updated the count since, raising concerns about transparency amid escalating conflict. The discrepancy between official and independent numbers continues to draw international attention as tensions between Iran and Israel intensify.

Iran uses Fateh missile for first time against Israel, claims air superiority

For the first time, Iran has used its Fateh missile in a strike against Israel, according to reports published in Iranian media. According to Tasnim News Agency, the Fateh missile penetrated Israel’s air defense systems and repeatedly struck high-value and supposedly secure military sites.

In an official statement, the IRGC described the strike as a direct message to Israel and its allies, showcasing Iran’s military strength. The statement further asserted that Israel has been completely unable to defend itself against these latest attacks.

Israel begins airlift to bring home stranded citizens following Iran strike

Iran-Israel War LIVE UPDATES |  The United States on Sunday launched precision strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities Fordow, Natanz and Esfahan. The development comes amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran.

According to a post on Truth Social, Trump stated that the US had "successfully" hit three of Iran's key nuclear facilities--Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan--with a "full payload of BOMBS" being dropped on Fordow as the primary target.

"We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. All planes are now outside of Iran air space. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home," Trump stated.

"Congratulations to our great American Warriors. There is not another military in the World that could have done this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE!

Meanwhile the US President has also threatened Iran of further action 'if peace is not achieved soon'. Trump's announcement comes just two days after he said that he had opened a two-week window for diplomacy.

The underground site at Fordow and the larger Natanz plant were Iran's two primary uranium enrichment facilities, out of which Natanz had already been hit by Israel with smaller weapons earlier in the week.

The conflict between Israel and Iran entered its ninth day on Saturday, with the US now joining in support of Israel. The conflict started after Israel, on June 13, launched a massive airstrike on Iranian military and nuclear sites, dubbed "Operation Rising Lion."
