Russian general killed after bomb planted under car goes off, Ukraine involvement suspected
The preliminary investigation suggests the bomb was planted with the help of Ukrainian intelligence services. Ukraine has not yet commented on the matter.
PTC News Desk: A senior Russian general was killed on Monday after a bomb detonated underneath his car in Southern Moscow, police said. Lieutenant General Fanil Sarvarov, head of the Operational Training Directorate of the Russian Armed Forces General Staff, died from his injuries, Svetlana Petrenko, official spokesperson for Russia’s Investigative Committee, said.
Sarvarov was immediately rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. An investigation has been launched into the murder and illegal trafficking of explosives.
“Investigators are pursuing numerous lines of enquiry regarding the murder. One of these is that the crime was orchestrated by Ukrainian intelligence services,” Petrenko said.
Russia's Investigative Committee said Lt Gen Fanil Sarvarov died on Monday morning after an explosive device planted under a car detonated.

Investigators have been sent to the scene, in a car park near an apartment block in the south of Russia's capital.
Scores of military officials and high-profile individuals have been killed since Russian launched full-scale invasion of Ukraine in Febraury 2022.
