Lhasa (Tibet), April 10: Freedom House, a global watchdog, has released its Freedom in the World Index for 2023, which rates Tibet as the world's least free country.
On March 9, Freedom House, a global watchdog of human rights around the world, released its report titled "Freedom in the World 2023 Report." According to the news report, Freedom House ranked Tibet as the "World's least-free country," with South Sudan and Syria. The report was issued for the third year in a row, following Freedom House surveys in 2021 and 2022 that placed Tibet at the bottom of a community of nations. According to Freedom House's report, both Chinese and Tibetans living in Tibet lack basic human rights. The Chinese authorities, on the other hand, are vicious in repressing any signs of dissent among Tibetans.

Meanwhile, the UN Committee on Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights stated in its Third Periodic Review report on March 6 that various concerns affecting the Tibetan people's human rights require serious and urgent attention from the international community.
The rest of the world keeps a careful eye on each step the CPC takes to Sinicize Tibet. According to the news report, what counts is the degree to which action is made to stem the onslaught against Tibetan culture and identity.
The CCP's efforts to sinicize Tibetans have advanced with the formation of a `Chinese Nation Community Consciousness Building Research Center' in the Tibetan Autonomous Region (TAR) to promote "national consciousness" Tibet Press reported citing Tibet Rights Collective (TRC).
According to official media, the centre will conduct research on how to foster "community consciousness" among Tibetans and will focus on promoting the Chinese government's policies in the region. According to the news, the Tibetan Autonomous Region intends to promote national consciousness, citizen consciousness, and rule of law consciousness, primarily among Tibetan religious figures in order to give them control over their views and beliefs.
