Anil Vij unaware of furlough, Z-plus security given to Gurmeet Ram Rahim
Chandigarh: In a major breakthrough, Haryana's Home Minister Anil Vij on Wednesday said that he was unaware of furlough and Z-plus security given to the convicted Gurmeet Ram Rahim who is serving life imprisonment.
"No such file has come to me," said Anil Vij. Anil Vij was not aware of the furlough and Z-plus security given to Gurmeet Ram Rahim in Haryana. He said, "neither any such file came to him nor did he have any such information."

The Home Minister also said that the Intelligence Department is with the Chief Minister, but in general, the Haryana Police is giving security to Gurmeet Ram Rahim.
A Home Minister having no information about such a serious matter raises many big questions. Anil Vij also expressed ignorance about the affidavit filed by the Haryana Government in the High Court in which it stated that Ram Rahim is not a hardcore criminal.
Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, who is on a furlough, has been provided Z-Plus category security following reports of threats to his life from pro-Khalistan activists.
Haryana government’s decision to grant the top-tier Z-Plus security cover to Ram Rahim comes after his request for furlough was approved earlier this month.
Ram Rahim, who is currently serving life imprisonment was released from Rohtak's Sunaria jail on a 21-day furlough on February 7.
