Apple launch event 2020: iPhone 12 price in India starts at Rs 69,900

Apple launched four iPhone 12 devices at the apple event on Tuesday, all equipped with 5G. The iPhone 12 series includes the iPhone 12, a smaller iPhone 12 Mini and larger iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. The new phones will be available for consumers in India starting October 30. Apple also announced HomePod Mini.

The new iPhone 12 series has a thinner design that also makes it lighter and smaller. This is despite the 5G antenna. Arun Mathias, Apple’s vice-president of wireless software, said the new 5G has been tested on over 100 carriers across the world, hitting up to 4 gigabits per second download speeds in ideal conditions. The new phones are powered by Apple’s new A14 Bionic, first seen in the new iPad Air launched last month, and the first to be built on 5nm technology.

The Pro models come with LiDar scanner that will offer 'an instant AR experience'. It's also used to focus on objects for photography in low-light conditions.

Apple also announced MagSafe for iPhone which promises to improve the wireless charging experience on the iPhone 12 but this technique works only for the all new iPhone 12.

iPhone 12 comes with 12MP ultra wide camera + 12MP wide angle lens. The camera of the iPhone 12 will be able to click stunning pictures in low light as well, Apple claims. The company has improved the Night mode as well. Night mode now comes in both front and rear cameras across all iPhone 12 models.

iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini will be available in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB models in blue, green, black, white, and PRODUCT(RED), starting at Rs 79,900 and Rs 69,900, respectively. The iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max will be available in 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB models in graphite, silver, gold, and pacific blue starting at Rs 119,900 and Rs 129,900, respectively.

The HomePod Mini boasts of a new design and is capable of consistent 360-degree sound experience, the company claims. The smart speaker comes with the support of Siri. The HomePod Mini will be able to use your iPhone and alert there's a new call or a message, or even an email or more.

The deep integration with the iPhone makes the experience seamless. You will also be able to control multiple things including lights, etc. HomePod mini comes in two color options at Rs 9,900.
