Punjab Assembly Elections 2022: Atam Nagar constituency is located in the Ludhiana district of Punjab. It is one of the 117 seats of Punjab Vidhan Sabha. Simarjeet Singh Bains from Lok Insaaf Party (LIP) won the last assembly elections and is the current MLA of Atam Nagar. He won the 2017 elections by defeating his nearest opponent Kamaljit Singh Karwal of Congress with a margin of 16,913 votes. Voters According to the voter list for the 2017 assembly elections, the total number of voters in the constituency is 1,57,499. 168 polling stations were established by the election commission during these elections. A total of 1,06,823 votes were cast in the Atam Nagar constituency and the percentage was 67.82%, which was recorded lower than the state average. Candidates Lok Insaaf Party's (LIP) Simarjeet Singh Bains, Shiromani Akali Dal's Gurmeet Singh Kular and Congress' Kamaljit Singh Karwal were MLA candidates for the Atam Nagar constituency in the 2017 Punjab assembly elections. Simarjeet Singh Bains (LIP) grabbed 53,421 votes, while Kamaljit Singh Karwal (Congress) got 36,508 votes. Gurmeet Singh Kular (SAD) managed to get 14,138 votes.
