Tripura girl who went missing in Delhi for 7 days found dead in Yamuna
PTC News Desk: In a shocking yet heartbreaking development, a 19-year-old Tripura girl Sneha Debnath, who went missing in the national capital was found dead in Yamuna, according to police officials.
Sneha was a student of Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College, Delhi University. She was in her second year pursuing B.Sc Maths. Her body was recovered from Yamuna near the Geeta colonyarea in east Delhi.
The preliminary investigation suggests that she dropped from the bridge allegedly where her cab driver dropped her off.
She lived with her family in the Paryavaran Complex area of Delhi. She had gone missing on July 7. According to her family, her phone was switched off after July 7 when she last talked to her parents and not money had been withdrawn from her bank account for the past four months.
According to her family, she informed them that she will be heading towards Sarai Rohilla railway station to accompany her friend. However when her phone got unreachable after three hours, the family was informed that she did not meet Pitunia as planned.
A cab driver traced by the family confirmed dropping Sneha near Delhi's Signature Bridge. Howeved due to poor CCTV coverage, the police had not been able to trace Sneha's activity after she got out of the cab.
