Famous Canadian Coffee chain opens outlet in Chandigarh
Tim Hortons in Chandigarh: Tim Hortons, the well-known Canadian coffee chain, has opened an outlet in Chandigarh at the Nexus Elante Mall.
With the city's expanding familial ties to Canada, Hortons' opening at the Mall on Monday didn't need much of an introduction or the grand bandobast with a red ribbon and a five-star celebrity.
Tim Hortons, well-known around the world for its distinctive coffee, beverages, and food, has created a number of customised menu options for the Indian market.
A section of the cuisine focuses on made-to-order meals and baked goods with customisable bread, spices, and toppings. Popular beverages include the French Vanilla, Iced Capp, a blended frozen coffee beverage, and Timbits - bite-sized portions of traditional doughnuts.
Meanwhile, Navin Gurnaney, the iconic brand's CEO for franchise in India, stated, "We aim to launch at least 20 Tim Hortons' cafés across Punjab by the end of this financial year."

According to Gurnaney, coffee consumption and culture have been steadily increasing over the last 10-12 years. "The young Indians, global travellers, and city dwellers are continuously looking for new global experiences, and coffee is one of them," he said, adding that the world is shrinking quickly and that social media has magnified things at a remarkable level, increasing brand visibility and followers.
Founded in 1964, Tim Hortons is the biggest fast-food chain in Canada. In recent years, it has broadened the scope of its offerings, expanding beyond North America and the United States. There are currently approximately 5,300 outlets spread over the Middle East, China, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Spain, Thailand, and the Philippines.
