Haryana Governor extends Dr Prabhleen Singh’s deputation as OSD amid major cultural initiatives

PTC Web Desk:  Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya has approved the extension of Dr Prabhleen Singh’s deputation as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Department of Information, Public Relations, Languages and Culture, Haryana, until further notice.

Dr Prabhleen Singh is currently on deputation from Punjabi University, Patiala. The extension comes amid his pivotal role in preserving and promoting Sikh heritage and culture in Haryana. Dr Prabhleen Singh has been given a free hand to spearhead cultural and heritage projects across the state.


He is also a part of the Haryana Government’s core team that is involved in establishing a Sikh museum and Guru Ravidas museum in Kurukshetra. Dr Singh was also instrumental in Haryana's prominent celebrations of Veer Bal Diwas, a flagship event initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to honour shaheedi of sahibzadaas of Sikh 10th Guru, Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Dr Prabhleen Singh played a vital role in planning and executing the celebrations.

Dr Prabhleen Singh also contributed significantly to the creation of Guru Gobind Singh Research Chair at Kurukshetra University, aimed at promoting research and scholarship on Sikh history and philosophy.

He is also closely associated with Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Lohgarh Foundation Trust, a state-backed project to preserve the legacy of the iconic Sikh warrior, Baba Banda Singh Bahadur, at a global level.

The Haryana Government is now preparing for the 350th martyrdom day of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, known as "Hind Di Chadar". Dr Prabhleen Singh has been inducted into the state’s core committee to help organise the grand commemorative events.
