Are you also addicted to headphones? Know its potential risks and ways to stay safe

PTC Web Desk: Headphones are a common accessory for many people, providing a convenient way to listen to music and other audio. However, headphones can also be dangerous if used improperly or for too long. This article will discuss the potential risks associated with headphones and what you can do to stay safe. The first risk associated with headphones is hearing loss. When the volume is too loud, it can damage the delicate cells in the inner ear, resulting in hearing loss. It's important to keep the volume at a comfortable level and avoid using headphones for extended periods of time. Another potential risk is tinnitus. This is a ringing or buzzing sound in the ear that can be caused by exposure to loud noise. Tinnitus can be both temporary and permanent, depending on the severity of the exposure. Headphones can also cause physical discomfort. Wearing headphones that are too tight or too loose can put pressure on the ears and cause pain. Additionally, wearing headphones for long periods of time can lead to headaches and fatigue.

Experts say using headphones for a long time not only damages the ears, it can also reduce your hearing ability.

If you also use headphones and earphones at high volume then it can prove to be harmful to your health. Earphones can produce up to 100 dB of noise, which is enough to damage your ears. According to doctors, hearing more than 85 dB for a long time can damage the ears. At the same time, the sound of less than 75 dB is considered right for our ears.

At the same time, headphones create heat in the ears, which can increase the risk of ear infections due to bacteria. In fact, wearing earphones for a long time puts pressure on the nerves of the ears, due to which nerves become inflamed. Its use causes vibration in the ears, due to which the hearing cells are adversely affected. This is the reason why many times earache starts from using headphones.

Never share your earphones with others amid a risk of infection. If your friend's headphones or earphones have any harmful bacteria and viruses then it can damage your ears.

Listening to loud songs increases the heart beat due to which the blood pressure rises and can also damage the heart.
