2 killed, 3 injured in mishap at hydropower project in Himachal's Kinnaur
Kinnaur (Himachal Pradesh), May 7: A major accident at Tidong Hydropower Project at Himachal Pradesh's Kinnaur on Saturday claimed the lives of two workers, while three have sustained injuries. According to information, a trolley leading inside the tunnel of the project slipped and fell deep inside at around 11 am on Saturday. The trolley was carrying five project workers when it reportedly slipped off the track and fell hundreds of feet deep inside, crossing a 45 to 50 degree slope. The power project is at Retakhan on the Tidong river, a tributary of the Satluj. Two dead bodies were also recovered from the tunnel by ITBP personnel. The deceased workers of the Tidong Hydropower Project were residents of Himachal Pradesh and Jharkhand.
