India logs 2,483 fresh Covid-19 cases, daily positivity rate drops
New Delhi, April 26: India reported 2,483 fresh Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, recording a slight drop from the previous day's 2541 cases.
The active caseload in the country also dipped from 16,522 to 15,636, while the positivity rate declined to 0.55 percent, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare bulletin on Tuesday.
A total of 1,970 Covid patients recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries since the beginning of the pandemic to 4,25,23,311, as per the latest Covid update. The recovery rate has been recorded at 98.75 percent.
As a total of 4,49,197 Covid-19 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, the cumulative tally increased to 83.54 crore tests.

India logged 1,399 Covid-related deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative death toll to 52,3622.
As far as vaccination is concerned, 22,83,224 doses of Covid-19 vaccines were administered in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of vaccine shots administered under the nationwide vaccination drive so far went up to 1,87,95,76,423.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare informed that over 19.90 crore balance and unutilised vaccine doses are still available with States and Union Territories.
"More than 19.90 crore (19,90,98,860) balance and unutilized Covid Vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered," said the ministry.
It added, "More than 192.85 Crore (1,92,85,90,115) Coronavirus vaccine doses have been provided to the States/UTs so far through the Government of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category."
