Ally Arjun arrest: Stampede victim’s husband willing to drop case against actor, says 'he had no involvement'
PTC Web Desk: Telugu superstar Allu Arjun has been sent to 14-day judicial custody following a case filed by the family of a woman who lost her life in a stampede during the premiere of his latest film, 'Pushpa 2: The Rise'. However, the victim’s husband, Bhaskar, on Friday expressed his willingness to withdraw the complaint, stating that the actor had no involvement in the tragic incident.
“I am ready to withdraw the case. I was not aware of the arrest, and Allu Arjun has nothing to do with the stampede in which my wife passed away,” Bhaskar was reported as saying,
The tragic stampede occurred on December 4 at Hyderabad’s Sandhya Theatre, where a massive crowd of Allu Arjun’s fans gathered for the premiere. Revathi (35) and her eight-year-old son were caught in the chaos and hospitalised. While the child survived, Revathi succumbed to her injuries.
Allu Arjun was arrested from his residence amid heavy security and taken to Chikkadpally police station on Friday. A case was registered against him and the theatre management under the new Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) law, based on the family's complaint.
The actor has approached the Telangana High Court, requesting the cancellation of the FIR filed against him. Meanwhile, his public relations team confirmed that Bhaskar is now ready to drop the charges.
