Maharashtra Political Crisis: Uddhav Thackeray to face floor test on June 30
Mumbai (Maharashtra), June 29: Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray is set to face a floor test on Thursday.
According to reports, Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari has written to assembly secretary Rajendra Bhagwat, calling for a special session at 11 am for Thackeray to prove his majority.
"The Leader of Opposition...personally visited me...I was briefing about the political situation in the state ad thereafter the Leader of Opposition submitted a letter stating that Chief Minister has lost the majority in Vidhan Sabha," Governor Koshyari said in the letter.
Meanwhile, the rebel camp led by Eknath Shinde is also ready to return to Mumbai to participate in the floor test.
Eknath Shinde and some Shiv Sena MLAs, who were camping at a five-star hotel in BJP-ruled Assam, went to a temple in the main city Guwahati Wednesday morning and told the media that he would return to Mumbai on Thursday.

"I'm here to pray for the peace and happiness of Maharashtra. Will go to Mumbai tomorrow for the floor test and follow all the process, said Shinde on Wednesday.
"We will be in Mumbai on Thursday for floor test in Assembly," he added.
The development comes a day after BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis urged Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari to direct the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government to prove its majority in the Assembly.
The Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress ruling coalition, according to former chief minister Fadnavis, appears to be in a minority because 39 Sena MLAs who are members of the rebel faction have stated they do not support the government.
